For The Last 12 Years The Bards have had literary events, poetry readings and book signings and launches all over Long Island, and up and down the east coast.
We're very excited to finally have a permanent home!
In 2009, graduate student James P. Wagner took submissions for his first poetry anthology which was launched at Dowling College in the spring of 2010. It was this anthology below, and it held work from 39 poets.
From there, Local Gems Press was formed, which has gone on to publish or print several hundred titles. Including many below.
As time went on, the wish for a permanent location for book launches, events, readings, seminars, and lovers of literature to gather grew more and more. And after 12 years, everything came together.
